A warm community for residents

At St Nectans we aim to provide each resident with all the comforts of home, and much more besides. Communal facilities for residents include a guest lounge for private dining with visiting friends or relatives, wireless broadband internet access for keeping in touch, use of a portable laptop and daily consultation with our in house chef on menus.

A varied selection of home cooked meals are prepared daily to suit the dietary preferences of residents. All meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or the privacy of the residents private rooms. We are happy to offer flexible meal times to fit in with medical or social needs. Religious and cultural preferences are catered for to ensure appropriate choices of food, including daily vegetarian options.

The produce and other ingredients used in our kitchens is locally sourced and does not come from pre-packed or mass produced sources. Vegetables are delivered daily to our premises to ensure that they are of the highest quality and meet the chef's requirements.

Private accommodation for residents

Accommodation consists of well appointed, en suite single rooms, with properly adapted toilets. Many rooms are large enough to accommodate a couple wishing to share. All rooms have a smoke detector and a nurse call facility in both the bedroom and bathroom to ensure 24 hour dignified care.

All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and we welcome personal items of furnishings and pictures. Our handyman will hang pictures and be happy to redecorate a room at a resident's request. A public phone is provided, however, residents may prefer to have a phone installed in their own room. The home is clean and odour free with corridors wide enough for easy wheelchair access.

We have ramps for ease of movement around the home and there are handrails along all corridors and a lift to all floors. We have completely refurnished the main bathroom and installed the latest state of the art Parker Bath with electronically controlled water temperature for the bath and shower, a Spa facility and a multi-clean unit. This new bath provides easy access, no hoist bathing and is a therapeutic, comfortable and enjoyable bathing experience for our residents, we also have specially adapted baths fitted with hoists to assist with bathing in most rooms, if required. The entire home is equipped to the highest standards to ensure the maximum level of care.
